How to keep your dog warm

Winter is almost here! The temperature drops, the sun hides and, depending where you are, snow may come into the picture.

During this time, it's important to remember that winter weather is not just tough for us, it may also be uncomfortable for our furry friends.

Some breeds, like the Siberian Husky, are well equipped to fight the cold, but other smaller and less furry breeds, like Chihuahuas for example, need some help to get through the winter.

That's why we compiled a list of some things to keep in mind when going out with your pooch in this weather.

If you feel chilly, your dog will feel it too

Whenever you feel like going out wearing only a shirt is a bad idea, know that your doggy is probably thinking the same.

Heat Stroke is a thing on winter too

Specially for short-nose dogs, if they exercise too hard out in the freezing cold and then settle down in a warm place.

You can check out more information about Heat Stroke for dogs in here.

Keep your dog's paws clean

Make sure to clean and dry your doggy's paws after a walk. Salt or other chemicals are frequently use to prevent ice from covering the streets and sidewalks.

Consider dressing up your dog

For most pets, a jumper, a jacket or a raincoat is the way to go! If you are not sure about your dog liking their clothes, you can check this blog post.

Limit their time outdoors

Even with their fur and a jacket, it's better to keep the doggies inside as much as possible.
